About the Business

M&A Advisory (M&A) practice of Deloitte assist financial and corporate investors in assessing investment opportunities and providing professional advisory services to support them in making effective and timely business and investment decisions concerning their outbound, inbound or domestic M&A transactions. Our extensive M&A transaction experience and industry knowledge gives clients a critical advantage in making informed investment decisions.

Work you'll do

  • Research and conduct analyses to compile key deal documents to support all phases of M&A
  • Evaluate alternative schemes and sources of funding to find the solution that best fits client’s needs
  • Support business development initiatives to maximize value from client’s investment
  • Help team determine attractiveness/readiness of a proposed deal by identifying pre-deal transaction benefits/risks
  • Drive sound financial decision making throughout the transaction through diligence efforts
  • Help client identify and address integration or separation issues to optimize the transition once the deal is secured
  • Execute valuation analysis for tax, financial reporting or other regulatory, compliance or management planning requirements
  • Independently and accurately build complex financial models and clearly present supporting analysis to the client
  • Select appropriate methods for collecting and analyzing large and complex data sets to extract insights and support solutions
  • Produce a high quality work product and collaborate with others across phases of the M&A transaction lifecycle to deliver an excellent client experience
  • Analyze financial and accounting information when evaluating transactions
  • Manage own work in an ethical manner with a continuous attention to quality and risk rules, and confidentiality
  • Build an understanding of how stages of the M&A lifecycle operate to enhance delivery in own phase of expertise

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor / Master Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or MBA with preferable quantitative aptitude
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience, preferably in transaction services, business valuation, financial instrument valuation or audit
  • Good team player with excellent analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in English and Chinese
  • Self-motivated with ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure

As an advantage if you have:

  • Professional qualification of HKICPA/ CICPA / AICPA / ACCA / CPV or other equivalent overseas qualifications
  • Good business sense and awareness of commercial and economic issues
  • Excellent financial and business analytical skills
  • Knowledge in financial modelling skills as an advantage
  • Proficient skill at Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, BI Power or other office software
