About the Business

Financial Advisory (FA) practice of Deloitte China provides strategic and financial advisory services to clients throughout all phases of the economic cycle. FA comprises several distinct but related global service lines whose shared principal objective is the creation and enhancement of shareholder and stakeholder value. 
Strategy & Investment (SI) is the most favorable advisor in helping Chinese government and enterprises in solving full life cycle strategy and capital operation issues, by providing end-to-end solutions.
SI is the essential connector that brings strategy development, investment and financing planning, corporate finance planning, exist planning and capital operation execution all together organically.
 

Work you'll do

•    Lead, mentor and role model the team through expert M&A and its entire lifecycle knowledge across several industries to make recommendations that enable client’s strategic agenda / complex issues
•    Inspire and employ a future growth perspective and envision the inorganic growth possibilities with potential M&A opportunities for the client in alignment with client’s strategy
•    Inspire teams towards successfully envisioning the M&A strategy followed by implementing the M&A plan as well as lead conversations with top C-Suite executives at client even at a global level to support enterprise-wide decision-making, operations improvement, and/or strengthen stakeholder management.
•    Ensures that team members actively participate in decision-making, and that decisions account for long-term implications to the client/customer, the Firm, and employees
•    Converse strategically on tech trends and disruptive technologies and how they can be an enabler or differentiator to the business
•    Provide oversight and strategic direction when leading large scale projects, client accounts and pursuits
•    Project gravitas, accessibility, strategic mindset and expertise, sustaining and reinforcing confidence of teams and clients
•    Understand Practice economics, calculated investment risks in IP and clients, and uses this knowledge to make decisions which drive profitability
•    Demonstrate Global Mindset as a role model in the organization, with collaborative, inclusive behaviors across networks
•    Create an environment which motivates sharing of innovative ideas for development into commercial business opportunities for our clients and the Firm
•    Advise clients on emerging market trends, disruptors and innovations that have the potential to impact strategic direction and investments based on sector and area of expertise
•    Speak to the breadth of Deloitte services with fluency, to engage SMAs (Subject Matter Advisors) during sales activities, and to negotiate profitable transactions for the Firm
•    Leads from the front, acting as an exemplary role model of integrity for leaders at all levels; promotes a strong sense of loyalty and followership and energizes others to act
•    Sets & communicates strategic direction, excites people around the vision and aligns diverse, cross business and cross border teams to achieve success
•    Builds a high performance culture by cultivating individual and team strengths; drives outstanding service, quality and stakeholder value, often through a mix of large cross business and/or cross border teams
•    Manages the development of a strong pipeline of diverse talent for current/ future success; owns and drives a talent experience that differentiates Deloitte

A fit for the role? Let's talk about you.

•    Minimum 10 - 12 years of experience in a strategy consulting firm, or strategy related corporate functions, or as an investment analyst background. Alternatively, minimum 6 - 8 years of consulting experience after a MBA degree, preferably from a top school
•    Solid knowledge in the investment and deal cycle
•    Experience in formulating strategic and operating models for investment platforms, and/or fund setup a plus
•    Strong communication skills in different client settings
•    Strong track record of driving business development with one or two dedicated industry focus, functional focus optional but preferred

•    Solid consulting skills and experience in managing strategy projects
•    Proven capability in handling clients and success of business development  
•    Excellent analytical capability, with good commercial acumen, business sense and financial knowledge 
•    Solid English ability in terms of both writing and speaking. Fluent in Mandarin with excellent business writing skills in Chinese
•    Self-motivated, and willingness to solve challenges and work under pressure 
•    High professionalism, and a team player with positive attitude
